La Pierre Angulaire, Abidjan, Ivory Coast, West Africa
La Pierre Angulaire is a health assistance and counseling Non Governmental Organization (NGO), a framework of excellence for new partnerships between scientists and researchers of Côte d'Ivoire and European, American, Asian and African countries. The partnerships combine the medical and the engineering sciences in terms of research and education.
Its members composed of doctors, economists, and persons in charge of education and civil society spent their entire professional career working as investigators or active members in significant projects whose results contribute to the improvement of health policy in Côte d'Ivoire and the world as well. Moreover, they have great experiences in the Ivorian health systems and especially in the fields of ARVs, the fight against HIV/AIDS transmission, Malaria and the monitoring of opportunistic infections including Tuberculosis.
By creating this NGO, the members are committed to supporting, strengthening and making the national and international health promotion operational. They are also committed to reinforcing the equity of care for PLHIV in underprivileged areas, especially in rural zones.
La Pierre Angulaire is finally planning to mobilize rural communities for the appropriation of their health, to develop partnerships with technical groups, and to confer capacities to pick up challenges that arise in African countries.
